Early EMDG GY24 Payments

AUSTRADE is opening the EMDG Milestone Reporting portal earlier than expected this year, enabling some Round 1, 2, & 3 EMDG grantees to access their FY 24 grant entitlements prior to 30 June 2024.

Austrade’s IT System team is working towards a March 2024 launch. The plan is for the online portal to remain open throughout the remainder of the 2023–24 financial year and throughout the 2024–25 financial year.

Austrade has stated that they intend to assess reports as they are received, endeavouring to make payments as soon as possible after assessment up to the limit of the available funding in the 2023–24 financial year.

Example: if you submit your milestone report as soon as the portal opens in March 2024, you may receive your payment in April 2024 for eligible expenditure incurred in the 2023–24 financial year.

Nb; Grantees will NOT be able to lodge multiple reports to request partial payments of their grant for the same financial year.

Grantees that have not spent as planned, and do not have any expenditure to request a grant, are still required to submit a milestone report as per the terms of their EMDG Grant Agreement. In such circumstances, Austrade will reallocate unused grant funds to other grantees who have spent as planned, submitted their milestone report early, and are requesting a grant payment.
